On 12 April, Adobe released a new version of Magento and Adobe Commerce namely Magento Open Source 2.4.4 and Adobe Commerce 2.4.4. Below we list some of the key changes of the new version. For a full overview of the update, please refer to the official release notes From Adobe.
- Support for PHP version 8.1
The latest version of Magento supports PHP version 8.1. This version includes new features and speed improvements. - Platform improvements
In this version, several platform improvements have been made such as support for Elastic Search 7.16 and Open search 1.2, update of the JQuery library and support for the latest version of TinyMCE 5.8.1. - Removing partner extensions
Previous versions of Magento included several partner extensions such as Amazon Pay, Klarna and Yotpo that were often not used. In this version, all these partner extensions have been removed except Braintree. - Security enhancements
Several security improvements have again been made in this version, such as disabling swagger in production mode, reCAPTCHA support for coupon codes and no longer storing session ids in the database. - More than 250 fixes and improvements
More than 250 improvements and fixes have been made in the latest version. A complete list of fixes can be found in Adobe's release notes.
