Each month, we look at a B2B E-commerce functionality that we deploy frequently with our customers and that is part of our B2B webshop solution. In this blog, we look at a frequently requested business functionality namely quotations.
Why offer functionality?
Requesting quotes is very common in the business market. Requesting a quotation is often the first contact moment with a new customer, so it is important that this runs as smoothly as possible. Quotations are also often used in B2B web shops for existing customers who place larger orders at once.
The advantages of the quotation functionality
- Give customers the freedom to request quotes themselves easily and quickly.
- Customers can request a quote and view the application 24/7.
- Quotations only need to be approved and can then be paid for directly by customers.
- Because sales people have to spend less time on the administrative work of preparing quotes, they can spend more time and attention on the customer.
Interface with ERP
If you use an ERP system and also use quotations there, they can be linked together so that requested quotations are automatically transferred. The quotation functionality works with the following ERP systems:
- Microsoft Dynamics NAV
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Unit 4
- Exact online or Exact Globe
How does requesting quotes work?
- Customers can create their own quotes for one or more products via the webshop.
- Customers themselves can view the quotes in their account via the webshop.
- The webshop administrator can modify and approve the quotation
- The customer automatically receives a notification that the quotation has been approved and can immediately place the order in the webshop.
