The goal

Vihamij was looking for a flexible and future-proof e-commerce platform that would replace the old CMS. The desire was to manage the wholesale website (vihamij.nl) and the consumer website (installand.nl) in one system. 

A link to the ERP system Axapta was a must. In the future, the webshop did need to have the ability to be linked to the ERP Business Central and PIM system Compano. 

 Furthermore, the following had to be realised:

• The system should be able to grow to over 200,000 products
• Filter options should be easily added in connection with the arrival of the PIM
• The webshop must be fast and mobile-friendly
• Products must be collectable from Vihamij branches

• Content must be easily placed using a page builder
• Quotations must be created directly in the web shop

The result

Together with Vihamij, we have a Magento 3 open-source environment down with two websites. Magento was quickly chosen because of the large number of products, the ability to track multiple inventories and the flexibility it offers to make changes. 

We created a link between Axapta and Magento so that order, product, customer, price and stock data is automatically synchronised. As a result, Vihamij's order processing does not need to take place in Magento. 

In the checkout, customers can select in which branch they want to collect the materials. Home delivery is of course also possible. Payment in the web shops is done via Mollie, business customers can order on account.

Through technical optimisations, various caching methods and powerful hosting of Hipex we were able to put down a fast environment.
