We recently had the pleasure of delivering another great new webshop for Jippie's Europe, an international manufacturer and wholesaler of products that contribute to child safety.

Jippie's products are available through various sales channels, such as Prenatal and Bol.com as well as smaller and medium-sized shops. However, the in-house webshop on jippie.nl no longer met the requirements and we therefore received the request to set up a new, user-friendly online ordering environment where business customers can place orders and find extensive product information. The new webshop needed to support current operations and act as a business card. Convenience and flexibility were the main desired features.

The new situation also required a link to Jippie's ERP system Unit4, which had to ensure full synchronisation of stock, orders and customer data. Such a linkage eases the workload, reduces the risk of errors and optimises the overall business process.

The customer

Jippie's Europe is a true family business. Starting in 1948 as Kleuterhuis Vos in Den Bosch, where the most beautiful christening gowns and cradle covers were made, Jippie's has grown within a few years into a company with five large shops that has also started to focus more on wholesale.

In 2010, the third generation of Vossen took over the company. They consciously chose to specialise entirely in child safety. Jippie's is now an international wholesaler that not only sells, but also manufactures and imports.

The webshop

After briefing with the client, we came up with a comprehensive functional design and design for the new webshop, based on a standard Magento environment. As Magento is primarily a B2C webshop platform, we did implement some customised functionalities.
For example, product prices are only visible after logging in, so non-logged-in customers can only view the products and product descriptions. For this, we used our Hide Price module.
New customer accounts become active only after approval by Jippie's, allowing them to decide which customers can order online. This is possible by using our Customer Approval extension.
Furthermore, we installed the Customer Price Rules extension for setting up customer-specific prices and discounts.

Based on a strong Magento theme and Jippie's corporate identity, we created a fresh and modern design, complemented by beautiful imagery and banners. The emphasis here is on product content and images and less on large pieces of text. This makes the shop clearer and more user-friendly.

ERP system

Jippie's uses ERP system Unit4. For efficiency, we developed a customised extension that links Unit4 and Magento.
This allows full synchronisation of stock, orders and customer data, so that the new webshop always offers the right information.

Further development

With this new webshop, Jippie's has taken another big step in their business development. Once this process is well integrated into their daily practices, we will take new steps to optimise the shop even further. We are happy to help Jippie's with this, and will also continue to advise them on possible areas for improvement in their environment.
